Severny GOK is one of the largest mining and processing enterprises in Europe. The plant is part of the Metinvest group. The ALD Engineering and Construction Company completed the reconstruction of the gas cleaning systems of the Pellet Production Shop at the enterprise.
The goal of the project is to reduce dust emissions to the level of European standards. So, the Ukrainian rates are 50 mg of dust per cubic meter of air. After the modernization, the 30 mg indicators have been achieved. Control devices are installed on the filters. Their data are displayed on the computers of the shift supervisor, on-relief operator. They track performance of each baghouse filter.
This is a global environmental upgrading implemented in the largest industrial plants around the world. The high requirements of the Sev GOK plant and the achievement of the international standards level are a challenge accepted by company. The specialists of the "ALD" company successfully managed it. Now the gas cleaning process has become more efficient, compete and economical to operate.
The works on replacement of the electrostatic precipitator of the limestone and bentonite crushing unit of the Pellet Production Shop and the replacement of the electrostatic precipitator of the pellet unloading body were carried out at the plant. ALD specialists have implemented a full range of turnkey works. This is the development of design documentation, dismantling of existing gas purification and aspiration equipment, installation of foundations, supply and installation of equipment, as well as commissioning works. Also, the manufacture and installation of load-bearing metal structures and technological equipment for gas cleaning, production and installation of in-shop gas ducts, production and installation of technological pipelines were carried out.
The works at the plant were carried out by about 250 specialists. Special equipment was involved. So, 1200 tons of metal structures were installed, about 1.5 thousand cubic meters of concrete and 200 tons of equipment were used in the work.
