The ALD Engineering and Construction Company performed complex high-rise works at the PJSC «Avdeevka Coke Plant». Our company dismantled four absorbers on the territory of the plant. These are special tanks for cleaning coke oven gas, with a diameter of almost four meters and a height of 32 meters, which is commensurate with the height of a nine-storied building.

Dismantling works were carried out within the framework of the AKHZ program for the liquidation of decommissioned facilities that are not used by the plant to free up the plant's area.

In total, four absorbers were dismantled, which consisted of aluminum and stainless steel. The dismantling work was carried out in stages - parts of the absorbers were removed using special equipment. Further, on the ground, they were cut into 800 mm by 800 mm elements and freed from aluminum and stainless steel.

For the work, the ALD company attracted special equipment, namely - 220-ton and 60-ton lifting cranes, as well as an aerial platform with a boom height of 35 meters.

In total, as a result of dismantling from the location of the absorbers, about 280 tons of scrap metal were removed. Recyclable materials can be used for further needs of the Metinvest holding.

Note that AKHZ is the largest coke-chemical enterprise in Ukraine and is part of the Metinvest group. The plant produces more than 30 types of products, the main of which is coke for metallurgy.

Our company is not implementing the first project at this enterprise. So, recently, our employees performed work there on the launch of a new cooling tower. And also the industrial bunker was dismantled.
