The fifth specialized international "Eco Forum-2021" began its work at the exhibition center "Kozak-Palace" on September, 14th. Environmental experts, representatives of business, education, science, local governments and government officials take part in the environmental forum. More than 90 speakers from Ukraine and other countries are expected to report at the event.
Local and regional enterprises, teachers, social activists, students and all Zaporozhye people indifferent to environmental issues are also present at the forum.
Specialists of ALD engineering and construction company also visited the Eco-Forum today. The company realizes the importance of environmental problems. Our company understands that improving the environmental situation in the country requires uniting specialists from all activity spheres. As many factors influence the environment today. For our part, we use only high-quality, environmentally friendly materials in construction that meet all norms and standards.
We don’t only realize the importance of green initiatives processes in the world, but we are involved in modernization of many production facilities. Specifically, ALD Engineering Construction specialists rebuild aspiration units at Zaporozhstal plant, replaced the electric filter of lime and bentonite crushing units at pellet shop and changed electric filter of pellets loading unit at Severny Washery Plant in Krivoy Rog. A new cooling tower was recently put into operation at PJSC Avdeevka Coke Plant. It will allow to perform tasks more efficiently and save energy at the same time. All installation works for the cooling tower was also carried out by ALD Engineering and Construction. These steps aimed at modernization of production facilities, resources save, carry for water basins and mutual work will allow us to preserve the planet for future generations.
Namely, various speakers discussed steps to be taken to preserve the environment.
Representatives of the regional and city authorities took part in the grand opening of the ecological forum today.
- The main issue considered at ecological forum is improvement of ecology, Vladimir Buryak, the mayor of Zaporozhye noted. - I do not want all we do here comes to nothing. There should be cooperation between government, business and public interest organizations. Local authority of Zaporozhzhia and city enterprises have signed collaboration memorandum six years ago. Initially, there were 16 companies. Today we reached 30 companies, signed this memorandum with the city authority. This forum will provide an opportunity to continue initial work and will give new impetus to cooperation between government, business and public interest organizations.
Elena Zhuk, the Chairman of Zaporozhye Regional Counsil, stressed that real deeds and desire for cooperation are important in the issue of ecology today.
- It is in our hands to intensify climate policy in the cities, districts and villages of Zaporizhzhia region, said Elena Zhuk. - This issue is a priority for the Zaporizhzhia Regional Council. As, we live in this territory, our children will live here. Therefore, it is necessary to take effective measures today. "Eco Forum - 2021" is exchange of views, projects and skills with the energy that will accelerate the transition to new environmental standards of live in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The Zaporozhye Ecological Forum has traditionally been supported by the Ministry of Natural Resources of Ukraine. Irina Stavchuk, Deputy Minister joined forum participants online. She talked about the ministry work, priorities in work, changes in legislation and reforms.
- Cooperation between government, business, local authorities, the population, public organizations is very important in order to solve environmental issues, Irina Stavchuk emphasized. - I wish everyone fruitful work and continuous solutions of environmental problems.
The main topic of Environmental Forum - 2021 is the European Green Deal. It stipulates decarbonization of the EU economy until 2050. The General Consul of Germany in Donetsk (office subway station Dnipro) Tanya Bayer spoke about the European experience.
- Your country's economy depends on industry and agriculture, Tanya Bayer said. – For this reason, Ukraine cannot stand aside from the Green Agreement. This environmental forum is held in eastern Ukraine with many industrial sites and agricultural lands concentrated, demonstrates that Ukraine will be actively involved in these processes.
Johannes Foswinkel, Director of the Heinrich Böll Foundation., Kyiv-Ukraine Bureau focused on significant climate changes on the planet during his speech.
- The topic of climate change dominates in the politics of Europe, especially Germany, Johannes Voswinkel said. - The goals of the green course are not only to replace obsolete technologies with new ones. The goals of the green new deal will cover all sectors of the economy. It concerns the entire society, as the familiar world around is changing.
Therefore, we are talking about social and environmental transformation in the fund. The green new deal also offers great chances for Ukraine. Similar forum is very important as it provides an opportunity to exchange experiences.
An exhibition is traditionally held on the ground floor of the exhibition center. There are stands of modern technologies developers in the field of environmental protection, municipal utilities of the city, industrial enterprises and higher educational institutions.
